Get approval to attend the Engaging Content Masterclass

With limited training and comms budgets, it can be hard to make the case for taking a course.  But your development is IMPORTANT!

Here is a template email you can send to the person who decides (or maybe you’re the person who decides – in which case, here’s why your colleague should attend!)

Edit as needed, and show them the benefits of investing in you.

Dear [manager/training manager name],

I would like the opportunity to attend the Engaging Content Masterclass, a day course designed for communications professionals.

The course teaches techniques on getting more people to respond to and share our organisations’s social media posts. Delegates learn how to make better videos, tell stories more effectively and appeal to our audiences with more relevant content on Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram and Twitter.

ROI

The return on investment will be huge.

The training is very practical, so I will be able to very quickly use the learning in my work, so we see higher engagement rates in our social media communications.

Our [organisations’s/comms/business] objectives will be more easily met when we have a strong brand, and our supported by thriving communities who are aware of and involved in our work.

Having a more interested and active audience who engage with us:

* Gives us social proof – it shows the world that we are popular and we listen
* Helps us understand our audiences better
* Increases trust in our organisation
* Helps more people know about what we do

Ongoing support and results

There is Facebook study group I can join that will help me apply my learning after the training day.

I will also be able to share what I learn with the team and others in the organisation, so colleagues can all achieve higher engagement with our audiences.

Quality and cover

I want to take the course so I am aware of the newest and most effective communications techniques. The trainer, Hel Reynolds, has won many digital and PR awards and has an exemplary reputation for training communications professionals.

[A colleague] has assured me that they will manage my calls and emails for the day if I am able to attend the course.

I am keen to take the training as soon as possible, as our team has important work to implement and we need to make our communications as engaging and sharable as we can, to ensure we make an impact.

Costs, location, duration

The training takes place over one working day.

To deliver this training in-house costs £1450 plus expenses, or £315 and travel costs for me to attend one of the final two courses running in Birmingham/Glasgow.

1. The date I’m keen to attend is [October 24th in Birmingham/October 25th on Glasgow].

or

2. I’d like to bring Hel to our organisation to deliver training in our offices in [October/November/December].

I can share the agenda with you if you’d like to find out more about the course.

I’d be so grateful if you’d consider this opportunity for me to develop my skills, and bring the organisation more value.

Thanks,
[YOUR NAME]
